Stayed 1 night early Sept. Will not stay again.
Pros:
- Room was clean and comfortable, good view
- beautiful, well maintained pools
- Next to the beach
Cons: TERRIBLE SERVICE
- staff speak little to no English. Not what you'd expect from Hilton!! Incident 1: my non-Mandarin speaking friend called asking for our room service to be cleared as we had finished dinner, and the call was transferred to a second person who still didn't speak any English. We also had to wait a whole hour for the stuff to be cleared, and then I was told their records showed we had already checked out of our room.
- incident 2: was first told when I ordered food at the pool that nobody had checked in to my room, then the name that I gave didn't match their records, then I didn't pay my deposit so couldn't charge the price of the food to my room (I had checked in 30 mins prior and paid the deposit required, and was given a receipt to prove it). Waited 2 HOURS for food to be made and delivered to the poolside. Why advertise the pool bar if nobody uses it, and when someone does use it, it takes this long?? We only ordered 3 drinks, a fried noodle, spring rolls, and pancakes. 2 of the drinks had to be sent back, huge ice cubes in what was supposed to be a smoothie.
- air con temperature was not adjustable. The lowest it would go was 23.5C.
- not the best location - 20 mins from city centre and 30 mins from airport by cab. Cabs charge extra 30RMB to cover costs of getting to the hotel.
