While I had some great moments in Punta Cana, I wouldn’t choose to stay at this apartment again if I return. I want to share my honest thoughts to help the owners improve, as they have a fantastic property that could lose guests without investing in its infrastructure.
The location is perfect, with direct beach access just steps away. We enjoyed beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels. Our ocean-view apartment offered a breathtaking view and was close to a mini market and restaurants. The apartment is in a gated community, and the layout of the 2 suites was nice, and the balcony was definitely my favorite part.
However, there were several issues that I think need addressing to avoid surprises and frustrations like I had:
1. Finding the place was tricky with no signs. The check-in office had minimal signage, and when we arrived, the attendant was late and a bit rude. This was frustrating, especially in the pouring rain.
2. At check-in, we learned about a deposit for electricity consumption that wasn’t mentioned during booking. We paid $60 for 3 days and got a refund for the unused amount, but it would have been nice to know in advance.
3. One bathroom had a broken toilet that leaked, creating a terrible smell. One shower didn’t work properly, and we found dead insects on the walls, especially mosquitoes.
4. Cockroaches in the kitchen.
In summary, the beautiful location is marred by significant service, maintenance, and cleanliness issues. I hope my feedback is helpful!
