Very good hotel

The services is excellent. The staff are very polite and friendly. They offer free coffee for the whole day. The breakfast will be offered in your room. The location is also next to the tourist area.

Virkeligt hyggeligt, smuk bygning. Søde, servicemindede flinke og imødekommende mennesker i receptionen. Genial løsning med morgenmad serveret på en lille vogn på værelset. Lækkert med selvbetjening af vand, te, kaffe og eftermiddagskager. Vær opmærksom på, at der er mange trappetrin op til reception og værelser og det efterhånden typiske badeværelsesdesign med glasvægge og skydedøre.

This small hotel is a true gem! We just returned from a one week stay and were so happy with everything. The staff here are exceptional. Alison and Beatriz went out of their way to provide extraordinary service (as did their male colleague, but I did not get his name). They were more than happy to provide recommendations for dining, exploring , transportation … and even some of the local history . The breakfast served to our room each morning was delightful! The eggs were always hot, and the croissants were warm and would melt in your mouth. We enjoyed starting our day overlooking this beautiful city while dining in the comfort and privacy of our own room. Others have commented on the afternoon cakes each day ( a highlight for my husband). As advertised, the hotel has lots of stairs, which add to its charm, but would, as others have mentioned, be a challenge for someone with mobility issues. We loved our stay here and hope to return!

Good location close to shops. Lovely old building. Attentive staff. Comprehensive continental breakfast served to room as there is no dining area. Access is up a large flight of stairs, so would not suit people with mobility issues.

Originally booked a suite but that was on the 4th floor. As there was no elevator, we had to change to a smaller room on the second floor. Unfortunately, you do not get a refund for this. The room was nice with a view of Santa Catarina street and the Santa Catarina pedestrian area. The staff do help you carry your luggage but there are a lot of stairs. There is no restaurant in the hotel so you order breakfast and they deliver it to you, on a cart, in the morning.

We couldn’t be happier with our stay. The staff were friendly, attentive and efficient. Breakfast served to your room was excellent and the 2pm cake was a delight. Teas and coffees were a great surprise too! We would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone.

Had a fantastic time staying at this property. The one downside is that there are no elevators, however encourage you to only pack a hand luggage and a backpack at best especially if you were staying on their top floor with the nicest rooms. The breakfast that they bring to your room is so good and the tarts included with this breakfast aren’t they good! Out of our room, the view was insane – without a doubt I’ll be back again
