This is a hotel not for relaxing. It is loud, the pool area is too crowded to even find a chair, and the beach non-existent - zero sand, tiny and covered with sea weed. The food, except for breakfast, borders on the inedible. Waiters are rude and unhelpful. I would never return and am shocked Wyndham allows its b=name on the property. The room - an alleged suite - was huge. But NO sofa, NO desk, NO normal closet - just empty space. NO place to sit and read.

We had a lovely and relaxing vacation. The service is incredible--every employee strives to make your stay enjoyable The restaurants were good, but not great. There are some very nice restaurants available within walking distance. The food on the resort was plentiful but not fine dining The beach was washed away during some previous hurricanes. Some days, the smell of the seaweed was just awful. Not certain if this was a spring phenomenon or year round We had a great and relaxing vacation. The spa is very nice

Very friendly and helpful front desk task. They know lots about what’s near by and how to get transportation. The bartenders love to laugh and have fun with everyone. The event staff know how to get a party going and have many events throughout your day to make you stay as enjoyable as possible. Food at every restaurant is super good and there is lots of choices. Overall 10/10, we will definitely be coming back for a 3rd trip!

This was a great experience all around! We went with a large group of college students and had an amazing stay. There were lots of fun events that always kept us entertained. The food was amazing and we never got tired of it. The maids do such a good job at cleaning your room every day and restocking everything. The service and staff are so amazing and polite. Special shout out to Diego, David, and Oscar! They made our trip an amazing experience. Can't wait to go back!

We unfortunately got food poisoning during our trip from the sushi bar. We had no fan in our room, the front desk would not help us when we asked about the temperature being brought down because we could not get our fevers to break. I have never felt so sick in my entire life and they did not care whatsoever that had happened to us. For all the money we spent on this trip, we understand mistakes happen but for nobody at the resort to care to help correct it is disappointing.

The hotel is nice. The food is very average, they offer all the soda cans you want ( that you can take them yourself) but if you want drinking water you have to ask for it, which was very inconvenient. Also if you go during the spring break don’t expect a lot of sleep, there will be party and people screaming, I strongly recommend ear plugs to be able to sleep.

The ambiance and the proximity to Fifth Avenue, which is an open area, compared to other resorts, which are situated by themselves. Alltra offered a comparable level of comfort when compared to our previous experiences. Furthermore, it offered a variety of activities for each day, allowing us to relax and enjoy the stay. Our stay was enjoyable, we would not have any negative points to mention.

Good quality was good, drinks were good but room service food quality wasn’t the best and that’s not included in all inclusive package. Less cabanas and more chair around the pool would have been nice. Perfect location for walking downtown.

Our expectations were exceeded considering our last min change. The original trip was supposed to be in Aruba, but since they required a vaccine I had no proof of, we were denied the flight and instead, we flipped the trip to playa del Carmen with the Wyndham. It was a lot of fun. Most of the staff was great. The ones who give it their all, you can tell don’t resent others and it’s a true pleasure to make our vacation fun. The ones who do, you can tell they don’t like young American men. At least that’s how I was made to feel even though I was in a cabana (paid extra), speaking Spanish, very respectful and with this one particular staff member, I always felt like a problem despite tipping well at the beginning of the day. Good spots within walking distance and we enjoyed even seeing the nearby beaches where locals go. The excursion team at the hotel were a joy to work with to get the right trip for us to see Chichen Itzá. Food was good, only ask is mangos for breakfast with the other nice fruits. I’d go back to this place for sure and even bring more family with us, and just not during spring break with my annoying and overly attention seeking fellow (young) Americans.

Lovely and close to the centre of Playa del Carmen. The staff was great - and the rooms are nice. The pool area is quite noisy - with loud music playing for much of the day... which was a big downside for us. And the beach is basically non-existent.

Such a beautiful resort filled with amazing staff members who go above and beyond. The pool is great ans its walking distances from so many hiding gens! Def would recommended this spot. It doesn't have a private beach but its walking distances to multiple public beaches

Had a lovely one week stay at Wyndham in March 2025. This resort is really good for the mid-range price. Pros: - Best food I've had at an AI and honestly many restaurants I've been to. Even the buffet food was amazing. - 1 block away from Quinta so easy access to the town, food, shopping, nightlife, etc., but far enough away that you can't hear it all night. - Resort is clean and kept-up - Staff are friendly for the most part - Lots of areas to sit and rest or join the fun depending on your preference - We walked from ADO on Quinta and was an easy 15 minute walk to the hotel Cons: - Resort is a bit outdated and some of the wear and tear is showing - Beach is small and rocky on the very edge of the hotel - Seaweed piles up on the shore beside the beach and can smell if left in the sun - Guests get limited number of water bottles and can only receive 4 extra from room service. We did not get our allotted amount during house cleaning one day and staff still would only give us 4 as a "refill" - Octopus from Brasas gave mild food poisoning to our guest and another we spoke to. Resort is overall pretty good and would recommend for people wanting to stay at a budget-friendly AI

One thing I didn’t love was that it smelled AWFUL until about 11:30 everyday. But it was a great trip! The buffet was great, italian was great. Zarape (Mexican) and Brasas (grill) were both awful. The bars were so fun, and the little beach bar was adorable. The beach at night wasn’t super secure but during the day the security did a good job for the most part from deflecting tourists scams. I didn’t love that everywhere I went it seemed like they were trying to get me to buy an extra package, and the spa people harassed me pretty aggressively, but again. I survived. Overall, I would totally stay again!

Location was excellent. Convenient to 5th street with excellent options and experiences. Through no fault of the property the beach is non-existent . North beach is very nice, had to walk north to enter water due to shoreline rocky conditions.
