Checking in was problematic. Desk staff had a lot of trouble checking us and other guests in, making the process take far too long. When we got to the room, our key cards didn't work, and when I returned to the front desk I was told it was my fault because I had the cards "too close to my phone."
The room itself was in poor condition. There was substantial damage to the walls in several places, including deep gouges and many paint scuffs. The furniture was torn in at least one place, threadbare in others, and appeared to be stained. I did not want to sit on anything other than the desk chair. There was enough damage I felt compelled to take photos to document the issues and address it with the staff to ensure I would not be charges for damages.
In the end, if I hadn't already driven 10 hours that day, I likely would have just left and drove straight through to home.
