I enjoyed my stay until an unexpected issue arose. I wasn’t informed about a loud Halloween party happening directly below my room (118) in the garden. Upon returning to the hotel at 5:00 PM, the noise was overwhelming, especially given the lack of double glazing, and made it impossible to relax or work, as I had planned.
I understand that events like this can be part of the hotel’s offerings, but as a guest booking a 4-star hotel surrounded by parks, I did not expect such extreme noise disturbance, especially late afternoon!
When I approached the front desk, I was told that the event would end at 9:30 PM. I felt that my request for assistance was not met, and no consideration was given. I ended up leaving the hotel in search of peace and quiet, despite having paid for the room.
When I returned later that evening, and the noise was still on; I spoke to the manager, who informed me that the event finish at 9:45 PM and that it was only an extra 15 minutes... I was also told that my room was the closest to the event and that notes about such disturbances are usually sent in advance—however, this did not happen in my case. Had I known about the potential noise, I would have likely booked elsewhere.
I was offered no alternative arrangements or compensation for the disruption.
Overall, I’m disappointed by the lack of proactive communication and the way my concerns were handled. It did not meet the standard of service I expect from a 4-star hotel, particularly in a tranquil setting
