This is a bird watchers' hotel and is conveniently situated for easy exploration of the area. The Okinawan Rail inhabits the woods nearby and an early morning stake out in front of the hotel's carpark guarantees one of Rail sightings. The raucous call of these charming bird is also hard to miss. In the evening and well into the night, owls hoot and other birds (?)/wildlife make their presence heard if you leave your windows open. We did.
The hotel itself is quite old and shows its age. Our room was acceptable but quite basic. The meals were okay if you can tolerate the same breakfast served everyday. And, if you are into Japanese breakfasts. My husband had to make do with sandwiches we purchase from Lawson but he did not complain. The dinners were a little more varied but don't expect gourmet meals. Simple fare is what you can expect.
There is also free laundry amenities on site and that was such a huge convenience - I will almost stay here just for that.
