The hotel is in a great location — close to shops, restaurants, the subway, Central Park, and Times Square — but the room itself was a real disappointment.
Our room had one narrow window facing a brick wall just a few feet away, so there was no natural light at all. An old air conditioner sat in the bottom of the window and made loud noises every few minutes, which made it hard to relax.
I asked the concierge if we could move to another room. He checked his computer and gave a long, vague answer that didn’t make much sense — I guess it was a no. I would’ve paid more for a better room if that option had been offered, but it wasn’t.
Thankfully, we were only there for two nights, but it felt like staying in a storage closet. The funky design just made it more irritating.
This was easily the worst room I’ve ever stayed in while visiting New York. I had no idea rooms like this even existed in highly rated hotels. Next time, I’ll do a lot more research before booking.
