The much higher pricing for this hotel is solely a function of location in Brooklyn. It is literally the only hotel in the area.
As such, you need dramatically lower amenities expectations for what you are paying for. It is a very quirky hotel that has a lot to work on. Staff is great. Rooms are good sized. Bed is very good. All other furnishings (furniture, light fixtures, art, bathroom sink, towels, etc.) are very dated, tired, and a bit shabby.
Lastly, all rooms have a mezuzah in the doorway. This may be a problem for some.
