Loved the charm of the place! The courtyards and pools made for a nice and quiet area to chill. I also enjoyed the cats that hung out there. My only inconveniences was the lack of curtains in the room, especially on the door. You were able to see the bed and inside of the room at an angle. Also the parking was helpful but it was self service parking at $50 plus the credit card fee but they don’t cash.

The historic buildings were beautifully maintained and clean and the staff were very patient although extremely busy. We enjoyed the central location of the hotel and the possibility of on site parking. The 24/7 availability of coffee was great.

I really loved the location of the property as it is a few streets away from Bourbon Street and other must see places. It is near enough that everything is within (10 minute) walking distance & far enough from loud noises or disruptions. Overall, the hotel is a beautiful historic landmark with so much history at the heart of New Orleans. If you love cats as much as I do, this place is practically run by them. You can catch them chilling by the pool or lounging around the place. The only reason I give this place an 4/5 stars is due to an incident where maintenance was in our room replacing the curtains with blinds. This was not the maintenance guy’s fault as he was just doing his job and doing what he was told. However, it was a responsibility of the hotel management to provide us with a notice if someone was going to be in our room while we were out exploring the city. It just felt very unprofessional that they would not notify us of someone being in our room which housed our personal belongings given that we booked a room. We only found out because my partner and I returned to our room to rest for a while before heading out again. The maintenance could have been done before we checked in or after we checked out. Other than that incident, I would still stay at the hotel again because of it’s beautiful location.

In relation to where you'd wanna go around town, the location is convenient and walkable. It's far enough removed from Bourbon Street where it's a nice, quiet street. However, it seems like there's a big difference in quality depending on what room you get. Ours was in the jazz cottage area and it was very basic. No art on the walls, scratched/dirty floors, leaky shower faucet, and just generally disappointing compared to the nicer rooms I saw online. Very hard bed, and the mini fridge did not work even though it was running. Easy to hear everybody talking and working out in the courtyard if that bothers you. I will say, the free coffee in the lobby was a nice amenity, as well as the selection of snacks for sale. Depending on your budget and preference for luxury/amenities, you may want to consider somewhere a bit more upscale.

Looking at the pictures I did a minor upgrade to queen size bed and what I expected to be a slighty better room. Not so much. Minimal room around the bed. Barely enough for two people to pass each other. Bathroom 3/4 with only enough for two if one sitting on commode. Door to room so swollen from moisture it needed eithor a kick or stout shoulder from outside to open, inside two hands and a good yank. Desk person had no suggestions. Everything clean. Lobby very nice. Tons of rooms so I'm sure many are nice. Just not ours.
