I had an extremely frustrating experience with my booking at Silverado Resort due to a system error with Expedia. I had intended to book for May 16 - May 18, 2025, but the reservation was confirmed for March 10 - March 12, 2025, dates I never selected. I only realized this mistake after receiving an email from Expedia asking me to review my stay, which hadn’t even happened yet.
I immediately contacted the resort and spoke to a reservations team member, who confirmed they could issue a refund if they weren’t fully booked. I verified the resort wasn’t full, but they refused to work with me and insisted I go through Expedia. Despite multiple attempts by Expedia to resolve the issue, including reinstating the correct booking, issuing a credit, or providing a refund, all were denied. The resort even charged me a no-show fee, despite not being fully booked.
This booking was meant to honor my fallen Marine brother, who passed away. Silverado Resort was the last place he visited before deployment, and he always talked about its beauty and hosting his wedding there one day. This trip was deeply important to me, but because of this error and poor handling of the situation, it has been ruined.
We are still trying to rebook to honor my brother, but I wish there had been better options and support to resolve this.
