「The staff were very hardworking, always cheerful and friendly, breakfast and restaurant meals were brilliant with plenty to eat, the building is in need of a bit of refurbishment but overall it is clean and very well run. We would be happy to return if in the area. 」

「This hotel was easy to find. When we arrived the staff were amazing and helpful. We had one problem with the room because it didn’t have enough beds, however the hotel manager was so helpful and sorted it out straight away. The food was nice and most importantly the beer was amazing!」

「This is the second time we've stayed at the Mason Freehouse, it was lovely the first time we stayed, which made us keen to return. Although it is now under new management, it's clear that the lovely, friendly, warm welcoming atmosphere is something the staff are keen to retain. 「If you would like to experience living in a 400 year old cottage, with many original features, surrounded by so much beauty and peacefulness, then this is the place for you! I cannot recommend it enough. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by hens and cats. We were then shown to our ‘living area’, bathroom and upstairs - a double bed and bunk beds. 「What a wonderful stay. Room absolutely gorgeous and with everything you could require even a fridge. Wide range of hot beverages to choose from. So clean and warm. The hotel restaurant was amazing, from the food to the wonderful friendly staff. Really liked the open fires and real Christmas trees made it very special. 」
