「Beautiful, old hotel/lodge with character. All was clean, warm and cozy. Staff were friendly and helpful. And...great location/views of the Lukla Airstrip i.e. just above it.」

「I’m a former Lonely Planet author (books and their editions include Panama 1, Las Vegas 1, Dominican & Haiti 1, Yucatán 1, and one-third of Mexico 5). I’ve stayed at several thousand hotels. I have my favorites and among them is the Namgyal. It’s not only comfortable, with a wonderful dining room/hang out area, solar room, private bathrooms, hot showers (!!!) and delicious food—best veggie burger I’ve ever had, savory Sherpa stew and divine apple pie—but it’s a place you want to stay for two...

「I stayed here for 4 weeks between 2 trips to Everest Base Camp. It was a perfect base for exploring the surrounding Khumbu region and Namche village. My hosts were friendly and went out of their way to make sure I was well fed, cared for and recovering from my adventures. The rooms were clean, the food great and atmosphere welcoming. I hope to return one day and stay there again.」

「I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights . On arrival I was met by very friendly staff . They upgraded my room to a larger one when I checked in . My room was large , clean and comfortable. The bed did have an electric blanket but I didn’t use as the sheets were warm enough . A nice bathroom with a hot shower . I had a lovely view out onto the mountains . The breakfasts were very good , service was exceptional. If you have any questions the hotel staff will assist you . A lovely view each morning...
