This is definitely not a 5 star resort, but we enjoyed it so much more than our posh resort we stayed at next in Port Vila. That resort was still good of course, but compared to the serenity and privacy we enjoyed at Tranquillity Island Resort - we wish we had chosen to stay here longer.
We chose the traditional style 'fare' so as to fully enjoy the ambience of our surroundings - the beach just steps away, and any neighbouring guests enjoying their own piece of paradise in total seclusion - once we had all deviated from the main track where the endangered juvenile Coconut Crabs were encouraged to feed and could be seen in the evenings.
Our room was basic (as we expected) and very comfortable, although we spent most of our time on our balcony enjoying the view. We opted for the full meal package, and was not at all disappointed with the fresh and tasty meals this provided for us, and we certainly never went hungry. In fact the food was delicious, and we fell madly in love with the coffee they had - not caring at all that they had to use powdered milk.
The managers, Sun and Joe, were always lovely and helpful, and their passion for caring for the environment was obvious. All the staff were great, and always had big happy smiles.
A wonderful place to snorkel or dive (they have their own dive facilities), walk along the beach or inland, or just chill out and do nothing at all. Our personal highlight had to be releasing a Hawksbill Turtle as part of their conservation program.
