La Torre dei Merli luxury tower villa is in Monterosso, Cinque Terre National Park. This part of the Italian Riviera is Unesco World Heritage Site for its high cultural value and incredible location. The Tower is considered one of the most beautiful Villas of the area for its position overlooking the sea, behind vineyards and olive tree hills. This wonderful Villa is a Tower built in 1901 by a cousin of Eugenio Montale, a famous Italian poet, journalist and music critic. It lies just a few steps from the poet's own villa, Villa Montale, where one of the apartments is available for rentals. The Tower was an ancient astronomical observatory which was transformed into a house in the 1960's. La Torre dei Merli develops into 5 floors. Access is from Via Privata Montale Gate opening on a path where we have a private car parking spot. From the path another gate introduces us to a manicured lawn. The tower appears in front of us as an overwhelming giant. The big front door opens on ground floor that offers a fully equipped kitchen with professional gas stove. On this level we find also a bathroom with shower. The opposite window door opens on the back of the tower where we have a big outdoor table with umbrella and a close by, spacious and functional BBQ area. From the kitchen floor we start our climb up to the upper levels of the tower. Flight after flight, we find two amazing panoramic living rooms (the first one, on mezzanine floor, with a double sofa bed) master double bedroom with en-suite bathroom one twin bedroom (with 2 single beds) a triple bedroom (with 3 single beds) 1 bathroom serving the two bedrooms a terrace opening on the top of the tower (access from master bedroom through a winding staircase) The top terrace offers the best view on Cinque Terre coastline one may desire. All guests reaching it for the first time remain breathless at the sight of the touching views. Sunsets and starry nights will offer unique romance to luxury La Torre dei Merli VIP guests. The furniture of the entire property is classy and refined, offering a special cuddling atmosphere of total relaxation and peace. Wifi available (working mostly ground floor – garden). Access is from Via Privata Montale, short distance from the train station, but slightly uphill.
