I loved my stay at Santi Resort! I'll consider booking there the next time I visit Luang Prabang. My room clean, quiet, and updated; the spa and the peaceful gardens set the mood for relaxation and romance. The property has existed for serval years, but apparently not as long as Santi's main hotel in the old town (where I also stayed on this trip). A free shuttle provides access to the stops near town; very convenient! I was not bothered by any noises. In my room was a spacious bathtub, which I filled it up once. But the water was turbid and murky; perhaps due to the rainy season? I didn't want to use the tub after that. I did, however, make full use of the spa and adequate fitness room (air-conditioned if you turn it on). The treatments I received were excellent and recommendable as I am a licensed massage therapist in New York. As with the immaculate surrounding gardens, the pool looked clean though I did not use it due to time. The breakfast was generous and delicious. I also had an a la carte lunch of green curry once, which was better than I tasted in town! After check-out, I booked a 1 hour massage before my taxi arrived.
I would have given Santi Resort an additional star if the staff had been more responsive at retrieving the few grooming items I accidentally forgot to pack and take with me. Reception knew I was in the spa for an hour treatment after checking out, but didn't check my room. I had to ask a local friend to retrieve the items.
