LOVED MY STAY HERE!!! Wonderful, quiet location with zero traffic noise. Only a 5-10 minute walk to the Boudhanath stupa. Hotel was made to support the adjoining Buddhist monastery, and all profits go to supporting the many monks there. I would call this a 4 star establishment per U.S. standards.
My room had an incredible view of the Buddhist temple that is on the premises. Room was spotless, bed was super comfy and the bathroom had a tub that was great to soak in after a grueling flight to Kathmandu.
There is a daily hot buffet breakfast included with the room, which had a very varied assortment of western and Asian choices. Omelets and Belgian waffles were also made to order. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, where I often had my meals, which were all delicious. The portions were huge and the prices were quite reasonable. The Pad Thai was the best I've ever had! Plentiful options for vegetarians, BTW (and for carnivores).
The staff is all lovely and friendly. One of the guest managers, Sushil, was always checking in with me to make sure that my stay was problem free. It was! He arranged a taxi for me on my final day, and my luggage was carried the few hundred meters to the taxi (the immediate vacinity are all pedestrian walking areas).
Do yourself a favor and stay here. It is one of the best stays I've ever had in my numerous travels to Asia. I originally was going to stay for three nights, and ended up staying for six.
