I had accidently gone to the wrong property. The building was clean, bright, welcoming and the staff friendly and helpful. When I got to the correct property, I found it dark, dirty and aged. The clerk was not friendly or welcoming. I tried to change my reservation to the other property but was not allowed to do so without paying for an entire night (I was only staying one night) so had to stay at original hotel. Clerk tried to get me to sign papers that were not printed correctly so entire parts were blank, asked for paperwork on a service dog (ADA specifically says it is not required). The rug in front of the front door is badly frayed and a tripping hazard. I brought it to the clerk's attention, the problem was not addressed. The hotel interior is aged, dark and dirty with carpet stains and fraying. The room was okay with lots of appreciated amenities but there is a lot of damage to the ceiling, some patched, some not, the bed pedestal is damaged. The worst part is that the toilet in the bathroom is very low and the toilet paper is actually BEHIND the person sitting on the toilet. Because the toilet is also very tight to the wall, the toilet paper is hard to access, especially if having to use the second roll. Love the deep bathtub but the handrail is patched, not giving much faith that it is secure and toiletries mounted on the wall are out of reach of anyone using the bathtub vs the shower.
