Stayed at JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort with my family for 3 nights. The overall experience was pretty underwhelming compare to other JW Marriotts I have strayed at.
Staff was friendly, but something was off with their internal communication or job assignments. Three different staff greeted me when I was inline waiting to check in, the group in front of me was taking a bit of time, so a staff tried to find openings at other counters, so I don’t have to wait for too long, I didn’t mind waiting a bit, but this was nice of them.
After check in, we were taken to our room, and staff told us our bags will follow. 30 mins passed, nothing came. We called and asked for our bag, but the staff that answered the phone sounded clueless, but say he will check. Another 30 mins passed, nothing again, so I went down to check for our bags and to find our bags by the door of the hotel, unattended. Though we got a little apologie card after, this was a bad start of the stay.
For cleanness issues- the breakfast area was really busy, with kids running around and stuff. Again, I don’t mind, it’s a resort, but the cleanliness needs a lot of work. The tables we were brought to stuff had bits of food on the table, on the chair and on the ground, it was pretty nasty…
Overall, the hotel was fine. I am sure our luggage situation was an overlook, but the cleanliness really needs a lot of work.
