Not sure what the hype is about this place, but just as you enter this hotel you may be confused and dissapointed as we were. You will be driving through residential areas about 1km from the main road, and entering the hotel right next to random local backyards. The hotel is situated inland, built around a small man made paddy field next to a swimming pool, which is your 'view' for the entire stay. What they do not explain when booking the hotel is that the lighthouse hotel is the main hotel (where you have to go for meals, spa,or any facility you would expect in a normal hotel including a reception to check in and check out) and these are only rooms that you spend the night in at night, and that in the event that you do decide to use a hotel facility for your leisure, you will be paying for a taxi from your own pocket everytime to get to the main hotel, as the hotel does not cover this.My friend and I both being female, did not particularly feel safe during these taxi rides at night as the road inland does not have street lighting, and passing through local deprived housing in the dark does not make you feel safe.We made a complaint to the main hotel's manager and requested to switch rooms to a room at the main hotel, which initially the gentleman at reception agreed to and said he will check as there was a room available at a cheaper rate than what we paid, to which she declined saying that is not allowed and that they do get similar complaints frequently. Not worth the$paid.
