I struggled with whether to rate this hotel 2 vs 3 stars, mainly because most of the staff we interacted with were very nice, but honestly there are so many things that need improvement. The pros include the location (steps away from the water, near the water taxi station), the room was good size and it had a balcony, the shower was good and the bed was ok, however the pillows were awful, flat and offering zero support (clearly old, needing replacement) but despite notifying the front desk, reportedly nothing could be done about it. Our room was located on the first floor and we could hear all the noise from the lobby and kitchen, there was very little soundproofing. The breakfast buffet was ok, they offered very few Turkish bread options but the coffee was pretty good despite being filtered. They had hard boiled eggs out and upon request you could get scrambled/fried eggs but unfortunately no one offered or mentioned this to us (we did hear the breakfast attendant mentioning this to some Turkish guests). We happen to see other foreign tourists getting these eggs and that's when we knew to ask. At times there was loud pop and dance music in the morning during breakfast which was not pleasant. The last issue here (hardly an issue particular to this hotel, it's an issue endemic to Turkey) is the smoking. The staff smoked right outside the front door at random times, including in the morning during breakfast and since it's an open space, at times we could smell the smoke.
