We booked our room months in advance. We asked for a queen size bed. When we arrived in the hotel, there was only one person to check us in. I understand that she, Andre, was doing her best. She was pleasant and welcoming but it took about 40 minutes to check in due to having to answer many, many questions from guests who were checking in before us. To wait that long to check in is quite unacceptable in any hotel. Not good. The hotel should have another person to assist with check in.
She believed we had booked a room with two twin beds but we had requested a queen size bed. When she finally took us to our room, it looked nothing like the photos we had seen on Expedia. The room was extremely small, not clean, old and unkept (rust, furniture in bad shape) no TV, a window with a view to a small piece of dirt and walls, no safe for our passports, only two bath towels and two hand towels. We were shocked and disappointed. Again, that looked nothing like the photos shown on Expedia.
We left the hotel immediately. We never had such a frustrating experience at a hotel. We felt deceived because we would never have booked and paid in advance for a room like the one they gave us.
