「Sorry to say this but we had a great room, suite I think, but the let down was the bed. The mattress was completely collapsed and we had a very uncomfortable night.」

Key code entry gives more flexibility as to arrival times, which suited us as we were spending the day and having dinner with friends so didn’t arrive till late. Pre-ordered breakfast for the following day and then settled down for the evening in a huge room with comfy seats, a big bed and a lovely bright and clean bathroom. Breakfast was just as promised, fresh, local and really tip top. Sat chatting with the hosts over breakfast watching the horse liveries turning out for the morning. Very very pleasant. 」

We used the bar and restaurant during our stay and found the food very good and the service excellent. Staff were friendly, and the breakfast was tasty with lots of choice. There seems to be a high staff turnover the past few years however bar and restaurant staff were excellent on this visit and couldn't have been more welcoming. Only two complaints...it has become quite expensive and the food quality is not as good. We all felt that the value for money in terms of food and drinks was not as good as in the past.
