The main components of a resort holiday are staff, food, rooms, activities & facilities.
Staff:
Our trip started off not great with a delayed flight, causing us to miss our first night at the resort. We were surprised (and a little upset) that our room wasn't ready, even though we were a day late. After this, we can't say enough good things about our interactions with the rest of the staff, particularly wait staff - both Manuel's, Juan, Silvia, William, Keira, Marianna, the bartenders at both the lobby bar and the Monkey Bar (pool bar). The pool activities staff were also amazing, especially Diego, Juanita, Jesus, Suny & Antony. Overall, everyone that we interacted with were very helpful and accommodating, but in a very relaxed and easy manner. They really make you feel at home.
Food & Drinks:
Many of the review that we read before going on this trip described the food as more middle-of-the-road fare and we would agree with this assessment. However, the breakfasts were very good with a great variety of choices and make sure you have an omelette! The chicken wings at the pool restaurant were great as well as the guacamole. The buffets (other than the breakfast buffets) tend to vary in the quality of the dishes but we could always find something pleasing. The specialty themed nights which are Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays (reservations required) were better than the supper buffets. Generally speaking there was a wide variety of selections at any of the dining
