Love that this hotel is pet friendly and the staff have always been excellent. While it is an older property, with the exception of the direct "side" stairwell to the exterior, which is in need of some repairs and TLC, the hotel is clean. Location is conveniently situated downtown with access to walking trail system, restaurants, coffee shops etc. There is some noise from traffic being on a main street if your room is on the front of the building. This is not our first stay at this property.

For the most part it was a good experience. The building is looking tired and could use a makeover. The stairs needed to be vacuumed, not done at all during my stay and appeared to not have been done in a while, full of salt and sand. Front desk staff should have some sort of uniform. The guy who checked me in and out looked like he just got back from a weekend in the woods and never had time to put on something more professional. He was very friendly and helpful but first appearances make a difference. Room was clean and comfortable and at the end of the day that is the main thing.

I was unimpressed with the tired state of the room and common areas. This hotel is in desperate need of an update. That could have been overlooked if I had t had to listen to very boisterous cleaning staff at 7:30AM right outside my door. And they were vacuuming the hall at 8am. I’m glad I wasn’t sleeping then. Others had “do not disturb” signs out.

I didn’t feel like it was worth $160. Property wasn’t in great shape. Took forever for staff to bring us an extra blanket, super loud because of all the sports teams staying there. Couldn’t get much sleep because of all the noise. Hairdryer was broken, they didn’t bring a working one when asked.

We’ve stayed here multiple times in the past but this weekend was different. There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke immediately upon entering the third floor. When travelling with people who have allergies and/or asthma this isn’t good given it’s advertised as a smoke free facility. The second night was extremely loud with very young children running the hallway unsupervised. We called the front desk and they said they were aware and would look into it. Almost 40 minutes later my children were still unable to sleep because of the noise outside in the hallway. We had to open the door and tell the children outside they were being extremely loud and keeping other children awake. When asked where their parents were they pointed to the other end of the hall. At one point there was a child around the age of three running the hallway with a shirt on but no pants on. A little consideration and respect for the people around you that travel for many different reasons not to mention the safety of your children would go a long way.
