「Both rooms smelled musty. The bathroom door in one room had a large crack in it and in the other room the door looked like it had been wet because it was all brown on the bottom. The shower curtain looked like it might have blood on it, the smoke detector was covered with some kind of netting, the door had a crack all around it. I will not stay there again.」

「The room was huge and furnished nicely. The hotel itself is very well cared for and kept updated. As long as you can get up and down the stairs, it is a great place to stay in Marshalltown. We ate at the Tremont Grille one morning and that was great as well. We will definitely stay there again when we come to town.」

「Was clean and kept up. It did have a hot tub listed and it wasn't there. Appeared it had been there and filled in, I could have used it. The room was clean, facility was clean and breakfast was what I expected and satisfactory. I would choose to stay there again.」

「This is a modest motel with much to be modest about, but certainly nothing to be embarrassed about. Although the furniture in the room was a bit eclectic, everything was clean and functional. Check in was quick and efficient. The attached Mexican restaurant seems to have quite a local following. Several other dining options and some shopping is all within walking distance. 」

「It appeared to be a slow weekend at the hotel as we did not see many other guests. The staff was friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. Standard breakfast was included.」

「We were traveling to take our daughter to Iowa State for a college visit and stayed over the night. The hotel was very good, the room was nice and clean and we even enjoyed using the hot tub. In the morning they had a standard hotel breakfast of waffles, cereal, bagels, doughnuts, ect. It met all our needs, a good clean room, nice staff, and a pretty good breakfast. The hot tub and pool were a bonus. If we ever come to Ames again, we will definitely stay here again.」

「In the middle of the night we had someone keep trying to get in our room. We called the front desk and asked someone to come check on it and they asked us to tell the person to come to the front desk. We let them know that we were not opening the door and asked that they send someone to check on it which they finally did. The room was noisy overall as we could hear the people upstairs every time they moved around. 」
