「From the moment we arrived we were very impressed with this hotel, grounds and surroundings. From the friendly doorman to Dermot the concierge who took our bags, ordered our taxis etc, to the lovely receptionists and that was before we took in the beautiful decor, comfort and layout of bars and restaurants and before we got to our bedroom which was more like a suite as was huge with a lovely view of the estate. The food was excellent and it was lovely to chill in the little bar area at reception...

「It’s a decent stay for the price. The property is starting to show its age and the health club was out of commission during my stay. Included breakfast is good, not exceptional. It’s a short walk to the city center and all the great restaurants and pubs so not bad overall. 」

「The rooms were old and needed major upgrades. The beds were ancient. The stairs up and down, little hallways, and more stairs, throughout the hotel were like a maze. The bartenders and wait staff were excellent and the location was good. But there are much better choices for the amount we paid.」

「Overall the hotel was good, the only points I would raise are with the room. A big room was allocated with a Queen size double and two singles, presumably a family room. It was at the top of a steep stair, not good for children. The smart TV was so smart it gave you the program it wanted no matter what you selected. The bathroom was fine except for only one hook to hang towels on and the small radiator not fixed to the wall. I would use the hotel again but not in rooms 15 and 16」
