For a property with a good reputation, and prices to match, we had a relatively awful experience staying at this hotel. It would take a long time to list all of the relevant details to support my statement, so instead I’ll simply list off a few of the problems we encountered.
Upon entering the room for the first time, I was hit with a heat wave, the thermostat said it was 78° in the room, and the unit was switched off. So I switched it on, set it to 68 and it showed “cool”. When I reached up to feel the air it was pushing into the room, it was hot air.
I called the front desk and explained the issue, they sent an engineer to investigate. Despite his best efforts he couldn’t identify the problem, but he mentioned that if he disabled the heat entirely, the A/C should work normally. I said I didn’t think I’d need the heat, so that is what we did.
The room I booked listed a bathtub/shower combination, my room had only a shower, I was told later by the staff that river view rooms don’t have bathtubs, no matter what the Expedia site told me.
When I attempted to take a shower, most of the jets on the shower head didn’t work at all and we clogged entirely. Showering was miserable and I only took one the entire stay due to how poorly it functioned.
The television would turn itself off while I was sitting in the room watching it, it would warn me with 60 seconds to press the “ok” button on the remote, which of course did absolutely nothing to stop the countdown and shu
