Was disappointed that the fireplace did not quiet warm room as expected but it still was cozy and elegant scene to have or try to concoct. "This is now my favorite spot to stay when visiting Monterey. The morning staff was wonderful I didn’t get the lady’s name that helped us Saturday morning but she was wonderful. My only complain is the afternoon and evening staff (2 females front desk) were not so nice or helpful they shouldn’t work the front desk if they don’t want to be there… but I would definitely recommend staying here you definitely won’t be disappointed💕"

"We were a family of 9 adults and every single person in our group talked about how impressed we all were with this hotel. The location, the food, the cleanliness, the amenities, the atmosphere, the decor - almost everything was 5 star. The only thing I would change is the mattress - it was uncomfortable and every time my husband or I moved the whole mattress would wobble. The waitstaff working at the function we attended definitely need more training about how to talk to each other in front of the guests. But that's negligible. I would stay at the Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa again and again. It is excellent."
