「Our stay was very enjoyable. The property is very unique and picturesque. The small cottages with a couple rooms each are very quiet. The grounds are very old and beautiful. They are cobble stone and so not ideal if you have mobility issues. Food and drinks at the restaurant were excellent and breakfast had a good variety. 」

「Nice area to sit outside, well stocked kitchen, each room has a cabinet for items, basket of fruit from owner’s garden and lovely cake was on one of the tables for guests to enjoy. Diana works very hard keeping the place clean and is always available if have any questions. Short walk to two excellent local restaurants, small but well stocked supermarket and the Trilho Ecologico da Urzelina (TEU), a beautiful 3 KM coast path. 」

「Kind people operating it. The property has a great view to the Pico Mountain, there are multiple houses lined up on a small street. It's a very peaceful vibe. It's within walking distance (an a beautiful walk - nice village with flowers, and fruits) to a cafe/bakery, a couple of restaurants, and a nice natural pool for swimming.」

「The staff spoke English and were very helpful. The location of this hotel was perfect! If you want to see the stone arch, it is next door to the hotel. If you want to swim in the natural pool, it is on the other side of the hotel. The hotel also has a pool and lovely grounds. The breakfast is great, as well. Sao Jorge Gardens if definitely a place I will stay again.」

「We stayed in the deluxe room, very spacious, clean and magnificent view of Pico and piers. Denise is very attentive and making sure we are well taking care of during our stay. Our room is on the 3rd floor of the building and there is an alley at the back of our room and we were able to park our car there and led us straight to our room. 」

「Staff friendly. Pool and spa facility very good all season. Good gymnasium. Food offerings limited but what was offered was not bad and price reasonable. Rooms need some modernization. Shower bath combo a little slippery, possible fall hazard. But overall ok. Good breakfast buffet. Views were the best in Horta. Nice bar area.」
