As soon as we entered the room it stank of damp toilet. When I took off my shoes I realized the entryway carpet was soaking wet and probably where the smell came from. The window was fully open with the room freezing cold so I’m assuming they realized the room stank and let the window open to air it out. It was disgustingly. There wasn’t even a phone for me to call and try to get a new room and it was nighttime so I didn’t feel safe to even go downstairs. I had to suck it up and deal with the damp smell and soaking carpet. I felt like I was walking on a wet dish sponge every time I tried to goto the bathroom as I had no slippers. This place is a dressed up motel at best. I think I have a foot fungus from walking on the dirty wet carpet. Horrifying and unhygienic.

Booked two club rooms and one room did not have the expresso coffee maker. When I asked front desk for the expresso coffee maker, they said they didn't have one and maybe it's broken for that room and they couldn't bring another one. I did not receive compensation for the uprgraded room. Also, THERE ARE NO PHONES IN THE ROOM. You have to scan a QR code and then select the hotel from a drop down menu to "LIVE CHAT" with someone. Unfortunately when the power went out in my room early morning, I couldn't find the hotel listed in the drop down menu so couldn't communicate with anyone. I would not book this hotel again for that very reason as you can't communicate with front desk if you have a problem or there is an emergency. Had to get dressed in the dark and find someone to help me. Bed was comfortable and pillows were hard.

We had no electricity in the middle of the night, which made it difficult to navigate the room in the dark. There was quite a bit of dust and the cold shower was not something we were ready for. However, the staff was lovely! I'm not sure we will stay here again anytime soon.

We came as a group of 4 to celebrate a special birthday. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the super gym and swimming pool. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful

I enjoyed my overnight stay at Village Watford. It was very accessible from the main roads which is why I booked it in the first place. Check in was good - although there was some confusion regarding check in time. I had been told via prior correspondence that I could check out at 12 but 11 was on the booking - which made for a slightly uncomfortable conversation. Facilities were great! Good choice on menu for the evening and great buffet breakfast. Bed was comfortable and warm on what was a very cold night. Only issue was that I did not have any water when I went to have a shower in the evening. Not a drop - cold or hot - so couldn't brush teeth or shower. It was working in the morning though. Would be helpful to understand why this happened as it wasn't at a bust "shower" time like in the morning. All in all a great stay though!!

Unusual experience
Staff were nice, was a mess up with my room already occupied, was upgraded but felt unsafe so double locked door so same didn’t happen to me. My room had a locked door to the next room therefore it was like I was in the room with them, drunken conversations way into the early hours and then very loud sex mid morning. Luckily had earplugs to actually sleep.
