Eastern European culture, cafés, delis and one of the biggest parks in Toronto make this family-friendly village a delightful destination.

Located just a few minutes from downtown Toronto, Bloor West Village is a friendly town with Eastern European character, historic buildings, boutiques and cafés. Experience Toronto’s diverse cultures as you move from street to street within the village. This friendly neighborhood is close to High Park, one of the city’s most popular green spaces.

Bloor West Village is a welcoming neighborhood, home to families from Ukraine, Russia, Bulgaria and Poland. Visit the family-owned businesses and independent boutiques which give the street a distinct communal feeling. Historic buildings line the street and cafés and food markets spill onto the sidewalks.

Find Eastern European cuisine at the fresh food markets. Cheese, cured meats, Hungarian sausages and Ukrainian cabbage rolls are some of the delicacies available. Try a hot Polish pierogi, a fried dumpling stuffed with meat, vegetable or fruit filling. Buy fresh aromatic bread from a bakery or relax in a café with a pastry.

Collect food and drinks for a picnic and head west to High Park for a relaxing day outdoors. Stroll through gardens and past Grenadier Pond. See a concert at the amphitheater or kick a ball around in the sports facilities. Kids will enjoy a visit to the animal paddocks, the trackless train or the adventure playground.

At the end of the day, head back to the village and dine in an upscale restaurant or enjoy a pub meal topped off with a Canadian beer.

If you are visiting in September, be sure to attend one of the biggest Ukrainian Festivals in North America. Watch the popular street parade and celebrate with traditional music, performances, festival rides and Ukrainian food.

Bloor Street is a major thoroughfare in Toronto that runs east to west. Reach Bloor West Village with a 15-minute drive from downtown Toronto or 30-minute ride by train, tram or bus.
