The food was really good, both in the evening and at breakfast. one draw back was that breakfast is served in a small restaurant which soon becomes quite crowded. The room was clean but the radiator didn't work so we had to use the noisy air con to heat the room. the issue was reported to staff, but nothing happened. The Spa facility consists of a pool with a small sauna and steam room. Which was OK to use during our stay which was for a friends birthday party.

Staff are fantastic. Property is a little run down but the grounds are fabulous. Be sure to take your robe from the room to the spa as they don’t give them out. I did have to ask for my room to be serviced and they didn’t replace the shower gel in the bathroom.

Food was good without exception; staff at reception and particularly in the kitchen were excellent and empathetic to all ages. Spa was a disappointment for the elderly or mildly disabled but was excellent for young people and families. Residents not allowed to bring a guest/helper.. Only one out of the 4 members of staff who were available was eventually helpful.

Our room was close to a very loud function so we requested a move . No alternative to the superior that we had paid for other than a standard room was available so we moved to that to get a good night sleep . Room was clean and tidy . £4.50 was taken off our room service bill for the inconvenience as alternative to a bottle of wine (and upgrade fee refunded) Breakfast was unable to accommodate the number of guests at 9am so a large amount of people had to wait in reception . Due to a toaster catching fire the main lobby doors were unable to be closed so the 20 minute wait for the breakfast room was a very cold one .Some staff seemed quite stressed by the morning events and rush . Breakfast was standard , not a lot of choice, asked for extra fruit but was told non was available . Spa was small but ok when we was in during quiet period . Overall - wouldn’t stay again .

Lovely grounds and room was very clean. Disappointing that breakfast is served in a dark space with no windows when there appears to be other large rooms with windows overlooking the beautiful grounds.
