「As I had found that this property was once owned by my 3X great granduncles I was fascinated by the history and walked in their footsteps. As I descended the original, narrow stairs with the low hand rails I imagined the original women in their high button shoes and hoop skirts more gracefully than me maneuvering them daily. It was a pleasant step back in time with it's antique atmosphere and original structure. It was my 48th wedding anniversary and staying at a family home made it even more...

「IlWe went in the office season and literally had the entire house to ourselves. We had our own designated room but all the other guest rooms were open and it felt like being in a home and not a hotel. The bed was comfortable with plenty of blankets and nice pillows. Every room has a gas fireplace to provide heat. The whirlpool tub was outstanding. Breakfast was included and some of the best food I have had. So much good, we never went away hungry. 「Loved the atmosphere of the hotel and rooms. All the staff were very friendly and eager to assist in whatever was needed. Rooms were cozy and spacious, however the lighting was problematic. There were 3 lamps, but no light in the main area of the room which made it difficult to see without using a flashlight. Overall, we were happy with the stay, and would consider it again for our future travels. 」
