We stayed here prior to a U Ga campus tour. On the website the hotel was advertised (and in its online photos) to be similar to a Graduate Hotel property with an Athens/collegiate vibe - which is what it was previously. However, it’s not newly remodeled nor has eclectic decor as described. It’s also a bit of a hike to the campus, which was disappointing. The website made it sound like it was a short walk. The hotel lobby and lounge/restaurant area with the brick exterior is cute but the rooms are motel style, facing the outside and look outdated. Ice machine was broken and our room looked like nobody had stayed there in a while - a bit dusty/cobwebs, remote control to the TV didn’t work, bathroom amenities like body wash needed restocked etc and it just felt overall drab & unappealing. We had just stayed at a Graduate property in another city which was fresh and vibrant, with clean, spacious rooms and impeccable decor - unfortunately Hotel Abacus was far from this.
