I booked 2 rooms and my bedroom has a bathroom facing the streets (with proper blinds) but it was different. I was extremely happy with the location and was able to walk 5 minutes to Dongman station and buy a MRT subway ticket to ride a few stops to Taipei 101 within a few hours of arrival. Across the streets are affordable shopping and beef noodle for $5 (180 Taiwanese dollars). Much better than the upscale DinTai Fung the front desk recommended. I love the Asian buffet breakfast and tried everything but my partner survived on their egg, bread and salad. The breakfast service people are very sweet. I would give this hotel a 5 star except for their old dirty rugs and my room did get warm and we almost had to change room but thankfully the AC kicked back in. The only thing is the elevator is slow and we often took the stairs. They gave complimentary umbrellas which was helpful. Free water, snacks, candies and juice was definitely a winsome bonus. The bed is firm (they put 2 twin beds together). I loved it, my partner hated it. The boys room is fine and not as hot since their windows are smaller. We were walking distance to Daan park and Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial. Love the roomy walk-in showers. I talked to a Canadian who’s actually living there for 3 months til August and he said this hotel is great for its money. Wouldn’t mind staying here again next time I come. Best of all is the washing machine and dryer. Free detergent but need 50 cents/load.
