It was all perfect: the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in and the cooked breakfast was the best I have ever eaten in a hotel - and I have eaten many in my lifetime. I would return in a heartbeat.

Probably the most famous hotel in the world!
One of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. An absolutely beautiful property that you can feel the history that went before. From the doorman to the chambermaids, the service was exemplary! This was a real one off for us but if the circumstances were such that we could afford to stay there again, we’d not hesitate in rebooking.

Pure luxury
First class service from the moment you get out of the taxi with the doorman meeting you and taking the suitcases away to being whisked past the queues and sat at a table in the piano bar immediately. Nothing is too much trouble and the food and whole experience is worth every penny.

Perfect place to stay for Christmas atmosphere. It really felt special and a nice escape. I wouldn’t change a thing but the restaurants. By Gordon Ramsey, they were the worst and most overpriced food in London.

The stay was amazing and as always love staying here. However we came down for breakfast told the wait would be 15-20 minutes we waited 45 minutes and went back to find out what was happening. It seems we had been forgotten so we left. Disappointing as it is part of staying at the Savoy.

Savoy…is it a 5 star experience?
Lovely hotel, service needed a lot more attention dining at the hotel was a joke especially weekends, insufficient room for hotel guests. We had not been informed the need to book both restaurants for breakfast (excluding Gordon Ramsay) and especially the American Bar during the evening when the place was taken over by the next door theatre goers having pre drinks. So regardless of your stay you could not enter! Room was nice and very clean. Sorry to gripe but my partner and I had a room on the ninth floor of the hotel, two very small elevators servicing the wing we were in. During a 10 day stay, the elevators were being continuously worked upon leaving one only working. On one occasion one was being worked upon the other simply gave up the ghost we ended up walking down the stair well. A second occasion whilst in the elevator with a member of staff the and other guests, the elevator stopped then started to free fall a little before juddering to a halt. We obviously managed to get back to the ground floor from the 6th. Tow of the lady guests in the elevator were incredibly frightened by the experience. Last day hotel could not find our luggage and we waited 20 minutes for some to be found. All in all a great experience with obvious issues regarding staff.

Dear Terence,Thank you for your detailed review which has been shared with the senior management team. We offer you our sincerest apologies for the inconveniences of the lift maintenance that occurred throughout your stay. Understandably, there was not only a daily frustration but alarm when on one occasion the lift came to an abrupt halt. The timeliness of the maintenance was not ideal at all, but nevertheless necessary to keep these lifts maintained to the strictest of safety standards. With regard to booking our venues, usually it would not be necessary to book a table in advance, but it is always recommended to avoid disappointment, especially during the festive season and other special occasion in the year. A communication is sent from our guest relations team advising to book so we are sorry this message was not received in time. Even without a booking for the bars, our resident guests should always take priority over external guests with a wait time honoured. We are sorry for the difficulties you experienced in this respect. We would also like to apologise for the luggage delay on your last day and hope this situation did not delay you too much in your onward journey. We care very much about how we make our guests feel and we want you to know that we have made a careful note of your comments, so ensure that should we have the pleasure of welcoming you again to The Savoy, that you enjoy a seamless, less frustrating and more enjoyable experience with us. Thank you again for your review and we send you all good wishes for 2024.

The greatest hotel in London IMHO
Out of all the times I have stayed at The Savoy, this was the best - the room was incredible, service, in-room breakfast dining, butler service - everything was impeccable.
